CMYHA teams sweep N.H. tourney

Central Maine Youth Hockey Hornets Squirt Tier III team won the championship at the Winter Classic in Hooksett, New Hampshire, over the New Year’s weekend. The team went 4-0 in its games, scoring 26 goals and allowing only one, including a 9-1 win in the championship game. The CMYHA Peewees and Bantams Tier III teams also won their division, giving the CMYHA teams a sweep of  the tournament. Hockey team helps food pantry

The Winslow High School varsity boys hockey team gathered on November 20 and participated in their annual food drive to help support the St. John Food Pantry. This has become an annual tradition for the team. Five crates of nonperishable foods and countless bags of bottles and cans were donated by local residents.

Silver medal winners at shootout

The Central Maine Youth Hockey Hornets squirt team that captured the silver medal at the Turkey Shootout, in Auburn, last weekend. The Hornets defeated Bangor, 5-2, Casco Bay, 7-2, and Lewiston, 4-3, before falling in the title game against Auburn, 4-2. Team members  include, front, Hunter Hallee.
