EVENTS: Grinnell Woods to hold ribbon cutting

All are invited to the ribbon cutting at the Grinnell Woods Trail, 241 Rockland Rd., Washington, Saturday, September 6, at 10 a.m.

The ceremony begins at 10 am. The Grinnell Family will give a short introduction to their family connection with the 99-acre woods and their future plans to balance a working forest with the public hiking trail followed by an optional hike on the trail.

The trail begins on a wood chip path, crossing “Sandra’s Bridge” before a small rise to the Hemlock Knoll. The Little Medomak Brook loop begins here. An easy walk down to the brook and back up the other side of the Hemlock Knoll. There is only limited elevation with some uneven terrain once one passes the bridge.

The Grinnell Woods Trail has been a community project thanks to the generosity of the Grinnell Family, local businesses, and the Town of Washington and its citizens.
